Camerawork

The opening use of slow motion is highly effective and the juxtaposition of this with the return to standard motion and the removal of anything romantic about the scene effectively encapsulates the themes of the piece

Closer in shots are used for Peter but not for the girl as this builds intimacy with him putting the audience on his side

Initial two shot of them on the sofa is effectively cut with shot reverse shot. However when the woman gets up for the dvd the shot of her discussing said DVD is rather uninteresting and boring and she is weirdly lit

Generally some of the shots look fantastic with interesting angles and movements that give a slight sense of a fly on the wall style camera but the camera is steady for most of it. However some of the shots are either too close or in some cases weirdly lit as if they had set up for one shot and not moved them for the next

during the final monologue slow zoom is very effectively used to build to the climax of the speech

Editing

Following the argument with the shot of him attached to the chandelier creates an obvious relation and also adds a large amount of humour to the scene

Scene transitions are often dramatic and then undercut by some moment of humour which works very nicely and links back into the general feeling of the text

Sound

The dramatic score over the top of the opening effectively creates tension as does the subtle sound effects. These are undercut by the dialogue which is initially deliberately disjointed but then becomes more serious

The slow pan up combined with the dramatic soundtrack contrasts effectively with the comedic comment of what would happen if they uploaded the video

The final soundtrack is very similar to the initial soundtrack and is much more emotional because of the contrast between its serious tone and the general tone of the rest of the text.

Various sound effects are over the top

Narrative

Split into three sections
- Initial opening in hallway
- In the living room
- Roof

Then cuts between each of them until conclusion on train platform
